Depending where you are coming from it may be necessary to use a plane. The most convenient airport is definitely Sky Harbor in Phoenix, Arizona. Renting a car is easy. However, the possibility exists to continue by plane to Page, too.

In case you decide for the car the trip from Sky Harbor to Page takes about 5 hours. Depending where you pick up the car the access to the freeway 10 west is different, however there are sufficient signs guiding you to the right freeway entrance. Thus, the first part of the ride is on the freeway number 10 till you get to the junction with freeway number 17. Follow freeway 17 into downtown Flagstaff; there you hit route 66; follow direction east; stay on 66 until you get to the junction with highway 89; get on highway 89 north. That will bring you into the Lake Powell area and Page, Arizona. To get to Big Water you have to cross the Colorado River at the Glen Dam. From there it is another 14 miles to Big Water.
